Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new school year! I hope you had a pleasant summer break. It is now time to get back into learning mode. Soon your child will be bringing home homework assignments and lots of various things that she/he will need your assistance completing. I will try my best to provide clear directions, so you and your child will be successful with each assignment. Please stop by the classroom if you have any further questions.

Homework:
Homework will be sent home on Tuesday and Thursday
of each week and is due back in class the following day, unless otherwise instructed. All homework is stamped in red-HOMEWORK PLEASE RETURN. All assignments should be returned in your child's homework folder which I will provide for you. Although, Tuesday and Thursday are considered "Homework" days, your child will be expected to study each and every evening. For example: spelling words, vocabulary words, oral reading, and/or math facts.

Book Talks:
Your child is required to read at least 25 books and do at least 25 "Book Talks" this year. She/he may use any age appropriate books from home, the local library, or the school library. Further directions to guide you and your child through "Book Talks" will be given with the first assignment.

Behavior:
Good citizenship makes learning more enjoyable for everyone. Your child has been thoroughly informed and is participating in a school wide behavior system, This system is posted in clear view in the classroom, so that you and your child can monitor behavior progress. Good behavior is always a requirement.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Langley, Room 106
